A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him.  ~ David Brinkley

1 Peter 2:23: “Who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;”

When someone’s feelings get hurt, or they are abused in any way, it is natural to want to take revenge. I have listened to people say terrible things about someone or do terrible things to someone who has said or done terrible things to them.

We can only give away what we have. If we have pain inside, we tend to want to give it away.

Instead of returning the pain, learn from it. Look for healthy ways to deal with it. Look for lessons you can learn. Decide not to hold on to the pain no matter what. It will be like poison inside of you.

Whatever you do, don’t get in the revenge business. It isn’t worth it.
